Art on Adams

This past Saturday a few of the galleries and shops on nearby Adams Ave opened up late to show some art and celebrate the holidays. I was there to check out the art and photograph the people.

I asked this girl if I could photographer her. She said, “Why? Do I look weird?”

It felt good to photographing people again. After all the landscapes and abstracts, I enjoyed the interaction of working with complete strangers. There’s always the element of uncertainty to photographing someone unknown. An object has no say in whether or how it’s photographed whereas a person often has a strong opinion about the matter.

I cheated a little here – my next stop was in North Park for Ray at Night. Lea’s the owner of the best little sexual aid store in San Diego, the Rubber Rose; I couldn’t resist snapping a couple of her in front of this perfect wall in her shop.
