Texture, Lines and Light – San Luis Obispo

While waiting for lunch, I found myself with a few minutes to play around. I walked around looking for intersections of lines, color and texture. I find it’s fun to give myself little assignments to see what comes of it.

When I look at the scene, I think of it in terms of different planes of light and ignore the content. To me the content becomes an abstraction.

This shot is just gross. There’s an alley in SLO where both walls are completely covered by this patina of old chewing gum. The smell of old gum is overpowering.

Finally, on the walk home at night, this lonely light caught my eye.
